We modelled this part from scratch from the customer’s sample. The model stays with us, so a copy can be printed at any time – without the modelling stage, which makes it faster and cheaper than a new job. If needed, we adapt the dimensions or the material.

How we did it

  1. 3D scanning

    We captured the geometry with a professional 3D scanner and cleaned the point cloud.

  2. CAD / reverse engineering

    We aligned and smoothed the surface and rebuilt and reinforced the factory mounts.

  3. Final printed part

    The model was split in two halves for strength and print quality. Then filler, primer and paint.

What we changed and improved

The factory mounts are stronger than the original.
