We modelled this part from scratch from the customer’s sample. The model stays with us, so a copy can be printed at any time – without the modelling stage, which makes it faster and cheaper than a new job. If needed, we adapt the dimensions or the material.

The problem / original part

The inner door handle insert was damaged.

How we did it

  1. 3D scanning

    We scanned both parts: the damaged insert and the chrome handle frame.

  2. CAD / reverse engineering

    We modelled the insert in two ways. The frame gave the most information about the exact geometry and fit.
